Stuffed grape leaves – the most treasured meal of all. Rolling them was a family activity involving competitions for the best rolling, fastest rolling, etc. We always laugh, tell jokes, and remind each other of stories from days gone by. The recipe can be found on the website at https://family.saydjari.net/food/
Some of us dip them in a little yogurt sauce, others drown them. Sami’s wife Kim and I use a cashew-lemon-juice mix that is out of this world (1/4 cup cashews, 1/2 cup cashews, blend on high speed). It’s even better than the yogurt sauce. I can hear my brother Razi saying, “Stupid…that’s sacrilegious.” Stealing leaves from each other’s plates and even from mouths was a thing growing up. What a family delight.
